WORLD DISABLED WEEK (10-16 MAY)
FAMOUS SAZ MASTER AŞIK VEYSEL ŞATIROĞLU
Together with my students, we researched the life of Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu.
We talked about how being visually impaired affects the artist's life.
We tried to understand it by playing the game of blindfold.
We listened to his songs and admired him.
We were amazed that he was able to compose these compositions without a musical education.
We chose the words of one of his folk songs and shared them with our project member friends.
Two of my students sang two lines from a folk song.The students of other teacher friends chose a string and sang. Other children participating in our project also sang the verse they chose. We did a joint event together.It was a fun, educational and sharing event.
